This is a follow to my popular video, a business analysis of The Timepiece Gentleman, after they unexpectedly went dark for a supposed publicity stunt. The video is titled simply as The Rise and Fall of The Timepiece Gentleman. Forgive me if it’s a bit premature.
In this video, I want to focus on what lessons one can take away from the ongoing decline or the fall of the Timepiece Gentleman.
The Timepiece Gentleman also known as Gentleman Timepieces, with owner Anthony Farrer and partner Marco Niccolini were quite the YouTube attraction in their hey day. They made a name and reputation for themselves as backpack watch hustlers, who were building their own little watch empire. They were the first grey market watch dealers who successfully filmed their daily activities. Their early videos were exciting to watch. As unknowns in the grey market watch industry, they took us through watch deals from an insider’s point of view. It was exciting going along for the ride and learning about the luxury watch business.
